Removal of Driving Privileges
The Georgia Department of Driver Services can eliminate your driving privileges through cancellation, revocation and suspension. DDS will cancel your driver's license if information is wrong or missing from your application, or it determines you don't qualify for one. You can reapply once you have corrected the problems. When DDS takes away your driving privileges for a specific amount of time, your license has either been revoked or suspended. You can apply for limited driving privileges during a suspension, but not a revocation. You must wait out the period, then apply for a new license.
Eligibility for Limited Driving Permit
DDS suspends licenses for a variety of reasons, including not showing up to court for a traffic violation and driving under the influence. The reason determines if you can apply for a hardship license. For example, you aren't eligible if you failed to pay child support or drove without insurance. You could be if the suspension was for getting too many points on your driving record or DUI. If DDS approves the hardship, you may have to agree to whatever limitations it sets. Some of those include driving only to and from certain locations, not using certain vehicles and only driving during specific times of day.
Application
You can submit an application for a limited driving permit to a local DDS customer service center. They're also accepted by mail at the Georgia Department of Driver Services, Customer Service, Licensing and Records Division, P.O. Box 80447, Conyers, Georgia 30013. Applications may be obtained by phone at (678) 413-8400 or from your county's government or law enforcement website. Include personal information such as your name, date of birth and address, driver's license number, and the reason why you're requesting the license. The fee is $25, as of 2015.
Additional Considerations
If your application is denied, you can request a hearing to appeal. The request must be in writing and sent to the Georgia Department of Driver Services, Customer Service, Licensing and Records Division, P.O. Box 80447, Conyers, Georgia 30013. DDS will hold the hearing within 30 days of receiving your request. The permit itself can be revoked for such things as violating traffic laws or one of the conditions. DDS can also extend a suspension period for an additional six months.

Department of Motor Vehicle laws in every state require that you pass a vision test to get or renew a driver’s license. While state laws may vary slightly, they typically call for visual acuity of at least 20/40 in either or both eyes, with or without corrective eyeglasses, and peripheral vision of 140 degrees.
Understand Vision Test Requirements
Driver’s license vision screening focuses on visual acuity, peripheral vision and in some states, the ability to see colors. Check the laws in your state, as colorblindness may result in an automatic failure in some states. Examiners use a [Snellen eye chart](http://www.visionsource.com/doctors/free-eye-chart-download/?it=patients/free-eye-chart-download/) to measure visual acuity -- distance vision -- and a computerized machine to test peripheral vision. If you normally wear corrective lenses, bring them with you, as you must wear them during the exam.
Correct Vision Problems Before the Test DayGa Drivers License Cost
Get an eye exam from a qualified eye care professional, such as a board-certified ophthalmologist or optometrist before or instead of taking a vision test at your local DMV. If you’re renewing an existing license, your state may be able to provide your doctor with a [form]( http://www.scdmvonline.com/DMVNew/forms/412-NC.pdf) to fill out to prove you meet the vision requirements for your state. This is especially important if you haven’t had a professional eye exam within the past year and may have issues that require correction.
Remember to Blink
Forgetting to blink and squeezing your eyes are common problems during a vision-screening test. Staring at a DMV eye chart without blinking increases tension around your eyes, which reduces vision and leads causes eye strain. Blinking also increases eye lubrication, which can significantly improve your ability to see clearly. According to Dr. Edward Kondrot, a board certified ophthalmologist and homeopathic physician, the keys are to **blink lightly and often and do not squeeze either eye shut during the test.**
On the welder.I've been doing all my welding in the shop.Good Luck,Bob. Blue air check-in.
Drink Plenty of Water
Keeping your body hydrated helps prevent lack of tear production. When your eyes stop producing tears, dry eye, eyestrain and vision problems often follow. Dr. Kondrot recommends that you drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water each day. For example, if you weigh 120 pounds, drink 60 ounces of water each day. **Start at least one week in advance, as this tactic won’t work if you wait until the day of the vision test.**
